Why give?

The first Peekskill St. Patrick’s parade was held on a Thursday night in March of 1990. The committee, urged on by then Mayor Richard Jackson, was formed in 1989. Their mission was to create an event that would bring the community together, while celebrating Irish heritage.

More than three decades later, that is the mission today’s committee strives to uphold. The first parade was started with $500.00, today it cost more than thirty(30) times that amount with required insurance, permit fees, cost of bands and other miscellaneous costs associated with running a parade.
